A project for a change of use to a Mosque/Madrasa in Billesley (Green Masjid and Madrasa) at the former GP premises of Greenridge Surgery was delayed allegedly because of opposition both by local residents and by BNP (British National Party) activists. A planning application Number 2008/04874/PA by Green Masjid Madrassa Committee for 713 Yardley Wood Road B13 0PT registered 17 September 2008 was withdrawn 20 October 2008. As of 13 July 2010, no planning applications for a similar use for property in Yardley Wood Road are recorded on the Birmingham City planning website.
